Bristol Community College Newman Civic Fellow Earns DC Scholarship

Amy Blanchette, a 2016 Newman Civic Fellow from Bristol Community College (BCC), has earned a coveted scholarship to attend the Leadership and the American Presidency Spring 2017 program in Washington, DC. Blanchette is one of four students nationally chosen for this honor.

Leadership and the American Presidency is a one-semester program offered by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute. Designed to develop the next generation of citizen leaders, the program offers an an immersive experiential learning environment that includes both academic and community work. Students take an accredited history course on the leadership journeys of presidents, apply their skills in an internship setting, and learn from business, government, and nonprofit leaders.

Campus Compact’s Newman Civic Fellowship recognizes and supports students who have demonstrated a commitment to finding solutions for challenges faced by communities across the country. This year, Campus Compact partnered with the Reagan Presidential Foundation to provide dedicated scholarships to four Newman Civic Fellows.
