I couldn't agree more about parent involvement. Sounds like you guys have a great program set up to reach the "non-traditionals."

States like Iowa can take a page out of your book!

Justin
Iowa Campus Compact VISTA

Hello,

I am full professor at Wheaton College and recently received and endowed chair award to focus on early STEM literacy. Can you please tell me more about this institute as it may interest me.

Thanks so much.

Thanks for your input and ideas. The idea of joining/"fanning" something with an charity donation is something that's really popular these days, so it's great that your office can take advantage of that.

Hi,
I handle social media and online advertising for the Tucker Foundation, the home to service and faith at Dartmouth College. Thanks for all these tips - at Tucker, we incentivized students, faculty and staff to join our online community (becoming a 'fan' of our page on Facebook) by offering a donation to Partners In Health (the non-profit founded by Dartmouth's president Dr. Jim Yong Kim) for every 10 new fans.

Within several days, we had ~2000+ fans (more than 50% of our student body!). However, like you mentioned, engaging people in the online community is important. We quickly realized that pictures and videos were so much more powerful, especially when you tag (@name) those in them. It makes the online comunity a lot more personal.

Thanks,
Chris
